Streets around the Constitutional Court in Central Jakarta were blocked off on Thursday as supporters of Prabowo Subianto descended again to the court to demand a reversal of the presidential election outcome in April which resulted in a re-election win for President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo.

A call to bring the city center to a standstill with a week-long street protest went unheeded, but today around a thousand of Prabowo's die-hard supporters – some had traveled from as far away as Surabaya – assembled on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat since nine in the morning.

Watched over by the Police Mobile Brigade in full riot gear, the protest went on peacefully. Men and women prayed on the street in front of the Constitutional Court and, on a scorching hot day, some even took the opportunity to have a little picnic in a nearby park.
