Jakarta. Presidential hopeful Prabowo recently thanked the thousands of members of the ride-hailing driver community Ojolet for their support.

A group of drivers who call themselves Erick Thohir fans declared on Friday their support for Prabowo’s presidential bid.

“Thank you for your support. I know that ride-hailing drivers have been supporting me for a long time. Underneath the hot sun, I can see that you are all still enthusiastic and all smiles. Thank you. It feels as if I have found a new energy,” Prabowo told the crowd in Jakarta.

Prabowo said he respected what the drivers do for a living.

“Every day, you put all your effort into your job … for a better life for your families, earning a halal income. You risk your life because it is dangerous when you ride motorbikes. I know full well that you are working for the sake of your children. Those who are still young are working for the sake of their parents and younger siblings. You are all people who deserve respect,” Prabowo added.

The candidate then vowed to provide better lives for the drivers. He vowed to get rid of poverty and corruption.

“I have done the math with the best experts in Indonesia. We can provide better lives for the Indonesian people. The first step is to make sure that all children get nutritious lunches should I be elected. This includes nutrition for children who are still in the mother’s womb. So no need to worry, all your kids will grow healthy, strong, and smart,” Prabowo said.
