Jakarta. Presidential hopeful Prabowo Subianto recently met with Ignatius Cardinal Suharyo, who serves as the Jakarta archbishop, during his visit to the Bishops’ Conference of Indonesia (KWI) in Jakarta.

According to Prabowo, Cardinal Suharyo has given advice that would be helpful for not just the Catholics, but also all Indonesians, ahead of the February election.

“Cardinal Suharyo has given some advice. But we believe this advice is not only good for the Catholics, but also all Indonesians,” Prabowo said.

Prabowo then thanked KWI for hosting him. The candidate also told the KWI that he would uphold unity.

“Thank you for this opportunity. We will always uphold the values that we have always embraced, namely [the state ideology] Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia, and Unity in Diversity,” Prabowo said.
