Pegadaian Rolls Out Aid for Cisarua Landslide Victims
Jakarta. A West Javan branch of the state-run pawnbroker Pegadaian distributed humanitarian aid to the victims of the landslide in Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua on Tuesday.
Pegadaian's regional office X in West Java handled the aid distribution. The assistance was also part of the company's corporate social responsibility initiatives. The aid packages distributed covered various priority needs in the evacuation centers, ranging from staple food, suitable clothing, bedding, to medicines and vitamins to maintain residents' immune systems during the emergency.
Dadan Supardan, the coordinator for the logistics posts of the disaster public kitchen Tagana, received the assistance in the symbolic handover.
"The Pegadaian family would like to express our condolences for the landslide disaster that occurred in Cisarua."Our presence here is not just about providing physical assistance, but also a form of solidarity and the company's moral responsibility to be there to support the community, especially in difficult situations like the current one," Pegadaian Regional Office X of West Java Head Eko Supriyanto said.
Pegadaian is also partnering with Tagana and local officials to make sure that the assistance go to the right people.
"Hopefully, the situation will recover soon and the community can safely return to their activities," he added.
The West Bandung Tagana reported that the aid immediately went straight to the local public kitchens and evacuation posts.
This aid is part of Pegadaian's support for sustainable development goals by strengthening community resilience to disasters. The company will keep an eye on the developments and is willing to provide more humanitarian assistance.
