Jakarta. State-owned pawnbroker Pegadaian was recently named "Best Company to Work For in Asia 2026" by HR Asia for the eighth time.

Pegadaian said that this award recognized its success in being home to the most competitive talent and its ability to enhance the work environment.

This year's event saw Pegadaian win five awards, up from four in the previous year, reflecting Pegadaian's performance in human capital management.

These awards are the HR Asia Best Company to Work For 2026 Indonesia Chapter, the HR Asia Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Awards 2026, the HR Asia Tech Empowerment Awards 2026, the HR Asia People Transformation Awards 2026, and the HR Asia Sustainable Workplace Awards 2026.

"The recent award serves as a strong commitment and motivation for us, Pegadaian employees, to continue moving forward to achieve our shared goal of making Indonesia golden and to continue providing the best for our customers by serving wholeheartedly," Pegadaian human capital director Tribuana Tunggadewi said.

Pegadaian has also implemented a measurable and targeted employee value proposition (EVP), which enables the company to develop the best talent.

Work-life balance is in place, according to Dewi, as the company provides a platform for employee hobbies, arts, and creativity through various employee communities. There is also the annual Pegadaian Excellence Awards that honor employees for generating innovative ideas and contributing to their work units for the advancement of the company's business.

Pegadaian has over 14,000 employees nationwide.

The company is now expanding its core business by pioneering a bullion ecosystem through its nationally recognized Pegadaian Gold Bank Service, as well as opening its first overseas outlet in Timor-Leste.
