Jakarta. Pegadaian, Indonesia’s pioneering Gold Bank, reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing the nation’s future leaders through its “Pegadaian Cares for Indonesia’s 2025 National Flag-Raising Golden Generation (Pegadaian Peduli Generasi Emas Paskibraka Nasional 2025)” program.

The initiative recognized members of the National Flag Hoisting Troop (Paskibraka) who carried out their duties during the 80th Independence Day Ceremony at the Merdeka Palace.

At a ceremony held at The Gade Tower, Jakarta, on August 20, Pegadaian presented 76 Paskibraka members—representing all 38 provinces, with a collective appreciation package worth Rp 481 million in the form of Pegadaian Gold Savings accounts. Trainers, mentors, and officials who supported the team’s journey were also honored. The reward symbolizes not only recognition of their dedication but also an investment in their financial future.

The event was attended by Pegadaian’s Board of Management alongside representatives from the Agency for Pancasila Ideology Development (BPIP), which oversees the Paskibraka program. BPIP welcomed Pegadaian’s support, highlighting how partnerships with state-owned enterprises (SOEs) play a crucial role in strengthening national character education among youth.

“Pegadaian believes the nation’s future depends on its young generation. They must be financially independent and literate to become strong, resilient, and capable of sustaining Indonesia’s economic growth. This appreciation is both a reward for their dedication and an investment for their future,” said Pegadaian President Director Damar Latri Setiawan.

Pegadaian’s involvement in the program reflects its broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) agenda, particularly the social pillar focused on human capital development. It also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

The company hopes that Paskibraka members will continue to inspire their peers beyond ceremonial duties, serving as role models and agents of change as Indonesia advances toward its Golden Generation 2045 vision.

As the pioneer of Gold Banking in Indonesia, Pegadaian remains committed to promoting financial literacy and encouraging young people to adopt gold as a reliable investment instrument. With its mission of mengEMASkan Indonesia (“turning Indonesia into gold”), Pegadaian is confident in its role as a catalyst for national economic growth.
