Pegadaian Employee Enters Microsoft Excel Championship Grand Final
Jakarta. Rama Andika Prasetya, an employee at the state-owned pawnshop Pegadaian, made it to the grand final of the 2024 Microsoft Excel World Championship Indonesia (MEWCI).
Rama came in third place in the state-owned enterprise category. He also ranked 4th place in the grand final for all categories.
The MEWCI challenges students' and professionals' Microsoft Excel skills. The e-sport championship had three categories: rookies, professionals, and state-owned enterprises. The top three of each category faced each other at the grand final to become the best of the best. The winner will fly to Las Vegas to represent Indonesia at the Financial Modeling World Cup.
Rama works as the assistant manager for the Pegadaian branch office in Medan 2 area. Rama uses Microsoft Excel every day at work.
"I'm glad to represent Pegadaian and is in the top 3 for the state-owned enterprise category," Rama was quoted as saying in a press statement.
"I ranked fourth place in the Grand Final. I might not go to Las Vegas, but I'm still proud of what I have achieved so far," Rama said.
Pegadaian's president director Damar Latri Setiawan said he was proud of Rama's achievements at the championship.
"This e-sport championship is more of an edutainment as it combines game aspects and Microsoft Excel skills. Hopefully, what Rama has achieved can motivate other Pegadaian employees to not only make achievements at the company, but also on the national and international level," Damar said.
