Jakarta. Presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto recently said that people should keep an eye on the voting stations to prevent any rigging.

Prabowo was addressing a crowd of his supporters --who were members of the Bakti untuk Rakyat (‘Serving the People’) community-- in Jakarta on Monday.

“So keep an eye on it. Come to the voting booths, vote. Please wait and watch [until the vote counting ends],” Prabowo told the crowd.

Prabowo said he was optimistic he would win the election in just one round, judging by the numerous surveys. However, this does not mean his supporters should let their guard down, according to Prabowo.

“So don’t say ‘oh we are going to win’ and not vote. That is what some people want,” Prabowo said.

“Everyone needs to come to the voting stations, vote, and check the voting paper. Don't let them tell you that the voting papers are damaged. There are attempts to damage the voting papers of those who voted for candidate pairing 02 [Prabowo-Gibran],” he added.

Prabowo also told the crowd to ask their friends and family to vote for him.

“After voting, I still need your support because we have to work hard,” Prabowo said.

“It is a noble task and dream that we have here. We want to eliminate poverty in Indonesia,” Prabowo told his supporters.
