Jakarta. As Eid al-Adha 2026 approaches, Indonesia’s qurban (ritual animal sacrifice during the Eid al-Adha Islamic holiday) market is beginning to show early pricing patterns, with sellers opening sales both offline and online while buyers gradually compare options ahead of the peak season.

At this stage, market activity remains in its early phase. Prices are still relatively stable, but as in previous years, gradual adjustments are expected as demand builds closer to the holiday.

Goat Prices Remain Accessible for Individual Buyers
Goats continue to be the most common choice for individual qurban. Across various regions, animals with standard weight are typically priced between Rp 2 million and Rp 4 million.

Larger goats, or those in better physical condition, can reach above Rp 5 million, depending on breed and overall health. These variations are closely tied to weight, age, and whether the animal has been properly maintained.

Compared to previous years, the current range suggests that prices have not shifted significantly in the early stage of the market. However, sellers often begin adjusting prices gradually as Eid al-Adha draws closer.

Cattle Prices Show Wider Variation
Cattle prices, meanwhile, tend to vary more widely due to differences in size and breed. For standard cattle, current prices are generally in the range of Rp 18 million to Rp 27 million.

For larger animals or premium breeds such as Limousin and Simmental, prices can exceed Rp 30 million, reflecting higher live weight and demand for better-quality livestock.

Group purchases remain a common option, allowing several buyers to share the cost of one animal. This approach continues to be widely used, particularly in urban areas.

Buyers Take a More Measured Approach
The way buyers approach qurban purchases has also evolved. While traditional livestock markets remain important, many now begin by gathering price references online before visiting sellers.

Reviewing offers from different sources allows buyers to understand the range of available options, from smaller goats to larger cattle, as well as how prices differ based on location and condition.

Even so, direct inspection is still considered essential to ensure the animal meets both health standards and religious requirements.

Costs and Supply Continue to Influence the Market
Several underlying factors continue to shape qurban animal prices.

Feed costs remain one of the key drivers, affecting overall livestock production expenses. In addition, distribution from livestock-producing regions to urban centers plays a role, particularly in determining final selling prices.

Animal health has also become an increasingly important consideration. Livestock that has undergone veterinary checks and meets proper standards is typically priced higher, reflecting added assurance for buyers.

Conclusion
At this stage, qurban animal prices for 2026 remain relatively stable, with goats generally ranging from Rp 2 million to Rp 4 million, and cattle starting from around Rp 18 million.

With more buyers now beginning their search online using terms such as harga kambing kurban 2026 or harga sapi kurban, access to market information has become easier. These searches often lead to listings posted directly by sellers, offering a clearer picture of actual pricing in the field.

Monitoring prices early allows buyers to make more informed decisions before demand peaks ahead of Eid al-Adha.
