Chandra Asri Group Wins Award for its Innovation in Energy Efficiency

Jakarta. Chandra Asri Group, a leading provider of energy, chemical, and infrastructure solutions in Southeast Asia, recently won an award for its energy efficiency innovations.

The company took home the 2025 PEEN -- the National Energy Efficiency Award -- for the sub-category of innovations for industrial energy management. The award recognizes Chandra Asri Group’s success in energy savings, reduced emissions, and increased plant operational reliability. The Directorate General of Renewables at the Energy Ministry awarded Chandra Asri’s four innovations as follows:

  1.  Energy Intensity Reduction at the Polyethylene Plant

Improving the performance of the Catalyst Feeding System and installing CORTEE to reduce contaminants, resulting in a more efficient and stable production process.

  1.  Energy Efficiency & Emission Reduction at the Polyethylene SDK Plant

Implementing the PRIME innovation in the Diluent Recovery Column (C-5624), which cut both energy consumption and emission.

  1.  Propylene Partial Pressure Optimization with APC in Polypropylene Train 2

Implementing Advanced Process Control (APC) in the reactor, which is capable of reducing the Energy Index and improving operational stability.

  1.  Reduction of Polymer Fouling in the EB/SM Splitter – Styrene Monomer Plant

Replacement of anti-polymerization chemicals with more effective formulations and implementation of a Double Chemical Injection System that boosts energy efficiency in the reboiler.

"The energy efficiency innovations we have implemented have been proven to measurably reduce energy consumption and emissions. This effort demonstrates our commitment to continuously improving operational efficiency and process reliability through appropriate and environmentally friendly technology,” Chandra Asri Group Manufacturing Director Ronald Sihombing said.

“We hope this innovation can serve as an example of energy efficiency implementation in the industrial sector and encourage positive contributions to operations and the environment.”

The innovations also reflect Chandra Asri Group’s commitment to increasing its competitiveness in the chemical industry sector, while supporting sustainability development.
