President Prabowo Inaugurates Officials, Ambassadors, and Papua Leaders
Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday inaugurated a slate of high-ranking officials, ambassadors, and regional leaders at the State Palace, including the head of newly transformed State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN), governors of Papua, deputy ministers, and 10 foreign envoys.
Sovereign wealth fund chief operating officer and former deputy minister of the State-Owned Enterprises (SOEss) Ministry Dony Oskaria was appointed head of BP BUMN, marking the formal transformation of the SOE Ministry under a revised law passed by parliament on October 2. Aminuddin Ma’ruf and Tedi Bharata were also named deputy heads of the agency. The appointments aim to enhance oversight and operational efficiency of state-owned enterprises.
President Prabowo also swore in Mathius D. Fakhiri and Aryoko Rumaropen as governor and deputy governor of Papua following their official election certification in September. “I will fulfill my duties as governor/deputy governor to serve the community and the nation faithfully,” Mathius and Aryoko pledged during the ceremony. Their election followed a Constitutional Court ruling rejecting a challenge to the regional vote.
On the health and financial fronts, Benjamin Paulus Octavianus was appointed Deputy Health Minister, while Anggito Abimanyu became Chairman of the Deposit Insurance Agency (LPS). Other LPS commissioners and ex-officio members were also inaugurated to strengthen oversight of the country’s banking system.
President Prabowo additionally inaugurated Ribka Haluk as head of the Executive Committee for Accelerating Special Autonomy Development in Papua, tasked with advancing education, healthcare, economic growth, and flagship programs such as the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) initiative. Ribka said she will coordinate closely with regional authorities and other stakeholders to implement these initiatives.
On the diplomatic front, Prabowo appointed 10 extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors and one deputy ambassador:
-
