Pramono Anung, Rano Karno Confident About Passing Health Checkup
Jakarta. Jakarta gubernatorial race pair Pramono Anung-Rano Karno is confident about passing the health checkup as part of the election.
People who wish to enter elections in Indonesia have to undergo health screening. Pramono and his running mate Rano arrived at the Tarakan General Hospital in Jakarta on Friday morning. Pramono, who currently serves as the cabinet secretary, told the press that Rano and himself had been regularly exercising to stay in shape.
“I cycle thrice a week. I go on jogs at least twice a week. I also work out with a personal trainer. I have been doing this for 20 years now,” Pramono said.
The 61-year-old politician added: “So when it comes to these medical checkups if God is willing, there should be nothing to worry about.”
Likewise, Rano Karno is also upbeat about the test results.
"I hope the blood tests don't hurt that much. Needles hurt.... I hope both of us are healthy," the actor-turned-politician said.
The Tarakan hospital said that they had readied a team of specialist doctors and experts. The medical checkup seeks to make sure that the candidates are both physically and mentally healthy. Candidates will also undergo drug tests.
Pramono Anung-Rano Karno became the first pair in the Jakarta gubernatorial race to get their health checked. The rivaling team Ridwan Kamil-Suswono will take the tests at the same hospital on Saturday.
