Prabowo's Cabinet: Palm Oil Entrepreneur Widiyanti Wardhana in Line for Ministerial Role
Jakarta. President-elect Prabowo Subianto has summoned several figures to hold ministerial positions in the Prabowo-Gibran administration. One figure drawing public attention is Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, a palm oil entrepreneur from East Kalimantan.
Widiyanti arrived at Prabowo's residence in Kertanegara IV, South Jakarta, on Monday, October 14, 2024, wearing a brown batik outfit. It is rumored that she will assume the role of Minister of Creative Economy.
Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, 53, is the daughter of conglomerate Wiwoho Basuki Tjokronegoro, the founder of Teladan Group, which operates in the energy and mining sectors.
She pursued her education at Pepperdine University in California, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1993.
After completing her studies, she embarked on a 30-year career across various business sectors, particularly in agribusiness and energy. Widiyanti currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Teladan Resources and is a commissioner at Teladan Prima Agro, a company focused on managing palm oil plantations and renewable energy in East Kalimantan.
Throughout her career, Widiyanti has held various strategic positions in several family-owned companies. Additionally, she is active in various social and non-profit organizations, including serving as the Secretary General of the Indonesian Heart Foundation since 2018.
Widiyanti's personal life also captures public interest. She is the wife of Wishnu Wardhana, former CEO of mining company Indika Energy. The couple is known to have a close relationship with the Prabowo family, further strengthening their position within political and business circles.
