Jakarta. Around 500,000 people reportedly participated in the grand campaign rally of the presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto and his running mate, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, in the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK) on Saturday.

As the fourth-largest stadium in Southeast Asia with a total seating capacity of 78,000 spectators, it was completely filled, both in the upper and lower stands. The outside of the stadium was also full, with supporters and volunteers occupying the surrounding areas.

The National Campaign Team (TKN) Commander of Prabowo-Gibran, Budisatrio Djiwandono, said the number of people attending the grand campaign reached 500,000 people.

"Reports we received about 30 minutes ago stated that the capacity in the stands and the festival area was almost 70 percent full," he said during the campaign preparation on Saturday morning.

"This is beyond our expectations. The gates were supposed to open at 12:30 PM, but from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, people had already started to gather," he added.

Meanwhile, President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, Gibran's father, has confirmed that he will not be present at the grand campaign on the final day of the 2024 election campaign.

Several supporters claimed to choose Prabowo because he is considered capable of continuing the work of President Jokowi.

"Prabowo has a noble spirit. He has run for office several times and was not elected, but now he can work with Jokowi.  Prabowo is a patriotic figure, and he will be able to continue the development that has been carried out by Jokowi. In essence, what has been implemented by Jokowi will be continued by Prabowo, so we want to support him," said Manulang, a member of a supporter group called Pariban (Prabowo-Gibran), in GBK Stadium on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Arif, who is part of Prabowo's supporter group Laskar 08 Depok, hopes that the upcoming February 14 election can proceed in a conducive and safe manner.

"I want Prabowo and Gibran to be trustworthy leaders," said Arif.

The Chairman of the High Council of the Democratic Party and former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) also attended the grand campaign.

Democratic Party Spokesperson Herzaky Mahendra Putra said SBY would deliver his speech at the grand campaign. The General Chairman of the Democratic Party and SBY's oldest son, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), along with the board of officials are also confirmed to be present.

Key figures from the Indonesia Maju Coalition (KIM) were seen at the last grand campaign. These include the Advisory Board of the National Campaign Team Wiranto, Head of Campaign Team Rosan Roeslani, Secretary of Campaign Team Nusron Wahid, General Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan, and the General Chairman of the Crescent Star Party (PBB) Yusril Ihza Mahendra.

On Saturday, all three pairs of presidential and vice-presidential candidates carried out their grand campaign activities. Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar held their campaign at Jakarta International Stadium (JIS). Meanwhile, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD organized a grand campaign in Solo and Semarang, Central Java.
