Jakarta. President-elect Prabowo Subianto expressed great relief following Monday's ruling by the Constitutional Court, which dismissed the motion to annul the election result. Prabowo, speaking with gratitude, thanked the court and the people for their support.

"We are grateful for the conclusion of the proceedings at the Constitutional Court," Prabowo said at his official residence in South Jakarta. "I extend my heartfelt thanks to all who have supported me, as well as to the Constitutional Court for their diligent efforts," he added.

The ruling paves the way for Prabowo to focus on the transition of power from President Joko Widodo, scheduled for October 20, and to commence the formation of his cabinet alongside his running mate, Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"We are diligently preparing for the future," Prabowo said.

Prabowo emerged victorious in the presidential election held on February 14, as announced formally by the General Election Commission (KPU) on March 20, securing 58 percent of the vote. However, his campaign celebrations were put on hold following legal challenges from rival candidates Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo, who sought to annul the result and demand a revote.

The plaintiffs alleged widespread voter fraud, favoritism, and perceived government support that purportedly gave an unfair advantage to Prabowo and Gibran, who is the eldest son of the president.

In a 5-3 vote on Monday, the Constitutional Court ruled that both Anies and Ganjar had failed to present compelling evidence and credible witnesses to support their claims, thereby rejecting their motion in its entirety.
