Bogor. Presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto is hoping that he can secure a single-round victory.

Prabowo cast his vote at a polling station in Bojong Koneng, Bogor, on Wednesday.

“If God is willing, if God is willing,” Prabowo told reporters when asked if he was optimistic that the election would take place in a single round.

He praised what the polling officers had done to make sure that the voting process went well. Prabowo also commented on the rain that showered Bojong Koneng on Wednesday morning.

“In our people’s belief, rain brings blessings and fortune. We have to be grateful. Hopefully, everything goes well. Praise be to God. Let’s just wait for the results,” Prabowo said.

Prabowo is scheduled to monitor a couple of quick count sites, namely Djakarta Theatre at 2 p.m. He will then move to Bidakara Hotel in South Jakarta. His last stop is a quick count screening at Istora Senayan.

A single-round election will require a candidate pairing to secure over 50 percent of the overall votes, as well as at least 20 percent of the votes in half of Indonesia’s provinces.
