Prabowo Dominates 2024 Presidential Election Real Count
Jakarta. The interim results of the 2024 presidential election, disclosed by the General Election Commission (KPU) at 12:00 PM WIB, indicate that the presidential and vice-presidential candidates, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, are in the lead over their two opponents.
Prabowo is in the lead, garnering approximately 14.81 million votes or around 56.39 percent, setting the stage for a one-round election. The KPU's real count has reached 42.53 percent of the total 823,236 polling stations (TPS).
The Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar pair received 24.59 percent of the votes, equivalent to 6.46 million votes, while Ganjar Pranowo and Mohammad Mahfud MD secured 19.03 percent or approximately 5 million votes.
The results of the Presidential Election 2024 vote count are still ongoing, and the KPU will conduct a vote recapitulation until March. 20. The official determination of the 2024 Election results must be done within three days after receiving a notification or decision from the Constitutional Court (MK).
President Joko Widodo has reminded the public to await the official results of the vote count.
"The quick count results are a scientific counting method. However, we must wait for the official real count results from the KPU," he said.
According to quick count results by various pollsters, Prabowo emerges as the frontrunner in the race to succeed Jokowi as the next president of Indonesia.
