KPK Seizes Land Assets in Upscale Jakarta Neighborhood Linked to ASDP Corruption Case
Jakarta. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Tuesday seized 15 assets linked to a corruption case involving the partnership and acquisition of Jembatan Nusantara by state-owned ferry operator ASDP Indonesia Ferry from 2019 to 2022.
The confiscated assets, which include land and buildings, are located in several upscale areas, including Pondok Indah in South Jakarta, Bogor, Menteng in Central Jakarta, and Surabaya, East Java.
KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika confirmed the total value of the seized properties amounts to hundreds of billions of rupiah.
The owner of Jembatan Nusantara Group, Adjie, was questioned by KPK investigators prior to the seizure on Oct.15. Following the investigation, KPK took possession of these assets as part of their ongoing inquiry.
Adjie has been named a suspect in the case and has expressed confusion over KPK's allegations regarding the acquisition process. He argued that there was no financial loss to the state and defended the legality of the sale of Jembatan Nusantara to ASDP.
KPK has previously identified four suspects in this corruption case, three of whom are public officials. The commission estimates that the financial losses resulting from the alleged corruption could reach approximately Rp 1.27 trillion, a figure that may increase as investigations continue.
