Jakarta Police Arrest Drug Convicts with Over 10,000 Ecstasy Pills in PIK 2
Jakarta. Two repeat drug offenders, identified as FP, 36, and FK, 29, were caught with 10,100 ecstasy pills at the Community Park Bus Stop in PIK 2, Tangerang, Banten, on Sunday night.
Donald Parlaungan Simanjuntak, Director of Narcotics at the Jakarta Metro Police, said that the bust began following a tip-off regarding an ecstasy distribution plan.
"The information was immediately followed up by the Narcotics Directorate," Donald said on Monday.
Further investigation revealed that FP and FK were planning to distribute the ecstasy pills in Jakarta and surrounding areas.
"The suspects disclosed that the ecstasy was obtained from a fugitive, and the drugs are suspected to have originated from abroad, possibly Denmark," he added.
Donald said the case is still under investigation, with authorities also looking into potential money laundering activities linked to the drug trade.
"The Narcotics Directorate of Metro Jaya Police remains committed to intensifying efforts in combating drug circulation," he said.
