Jakarta. The Indonesia Football Federation (PSSI) has recently unveiled its latest jersey design, set to be worn by the Garuda squad across multiple competitions, including the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, the U-23 Asian Cup, and the U-17 AFF Cup.

This new jersey will make its debut appearance in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers Group F match against Vietnam on March 21 at the main stadium of the GBK, Senayan. Inspired by the 1981 jersey worn during Indonesia's victorious 2-0 match against Japan, the design pays homage to the nation's football heritage.

The collaboration between the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) and Erspo marks a historic milestone in Indonesian sponsorship, representing the highest commercial value collaboration for a brand sponsor to date. This partnership introduces a new initiative where PSSI and the national team will receive a royalty percentage from each jersey sold, a first in their history.

Erspo's sponsorship encompasses an annual worth of Rp 8 billion ($500,000), coupled with a product supply valued at Rp 20 billion per year, making it the most significant contribution ever made to the Indonesian national football team.

However, despite the excitement surrounding the new match jerseys, Indonesia's national football team coach, Shin Tae-yong (STY), expressed discomfort with the new training jerseys. Nonetheless, he has given his approval for the new match jersey.

"Coach Shin expressed some discomfort regarding the training jerseys because it couldn't absorb sweat, so the coach wants it to be replaced," stated Sumadji, the national team manager, on Monday.

"The Erspo team has immediately responded, and they will replace it tomorrow" he added.

Sumardji also confirmed that there are no issues with the match jerseys, affirming their suitability for the national team's upcoming matches.
