Jakarta. Heavy equipment company United Tractors recently launched a series of facilities to help boost the welfare of its employees and local communities.

The company inaugurated a clinic as well as an employee dormitory in its Tanjung site in South Kalimantan. United Tractors also launched an agency dedicated to helping local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) grow their business.

The clinic seeks to provide healthcare services not only to the employees but also to the local communities. United Tractors also hopes that the clinic can help raise public awareness of health issues.

The Tanjung business development agency seeks to foster the MSMEs in United Tractors’ Tanjung operational area, which includes the Balangan and Tabalong regencies. This agency is targeting MSMEs previously mentored by the Pama Banua Lima agency founded by the Pamapersada Nusantara together with the Yayasan Dharma Bhakti Astra. It will train 194 existing MSMEs as well as new businesses. The United Tractors’ Yayasan Karya Bakti UT also built an employee dormitory to boost their productivity and solidarity.

"United Tractors as part of Astra has the value of continuing to grow together with stakeholders. We have carried out a number of initiatives through the establishment of several infrastructures to provide health facilities to the community and become a forum for business development through coaching MSMEs,” Edhie Sarwono, the company’s human capital and sustainability director, was quoted as saying in a recent press statement.

"In the future, UT will always collaborate with the local government to jointly build a better economy in Tabalong Regency," Edhie said.
