Jakarta. Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK) recently held a mangrove seedling planting activity at Tanjung Pasir Mangrove Center in Tangerang.

The initiative reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening coastal resilience as it rehabilitates coastal areas vulnerable to tidal flooding. This corporate social responsibility also targets improving the social and economic sustainability of the surrounding community. Mangroves play a vital role as natural shoreline protectors, marine biota habitats, and blue carbon sinks that support climate change mitigation. According to PTK, this aligns with the government’s so-called Asta Cita goals on economic equality, as well as on safeguarding food security and the environment.

This activity involved cross-generational participation, with 129 students from MI and MTs Darul Mukminin and 57 Tanjung Pasir villagers. The involvement of students and the community is expected to foster collective awareness from an early age of the importance of preserving coastal ecosystems, while strengthening a sense of shared responsibility for sustainably protecting the environment. This educational approach also supports the strengthening of character values and regional resilience, also in line with Asta Cita.

PTK teamed up with Perum Perhutani KPH Banten, the Forest Village Community Institution (LMDH) of Tanjung Pasir Village, and the Tanjung Pasir Village Navy Post. This collaboration ensures that mangrove planting activities not only have an ecological impact but also provide a comprehensive understanding of the function, benefits, and importance of mangroves for coastal life.

PTK President Director I Ketut Laba emphasized that environmental sustainability is an integral part of the company's growth.

"PTK believes that a growing company is one that provides tangible benefits. This activity shows that we are committed to protecting the coast, involving the younger generation, and ensuring environmental sustainability can be felt today and into the future," he said.

Through this activity, PTK affirms its role as a maritime services company that is not only operationally reliable but also consistently brings positive impacts to the environment and communities surrounding its operational areas.
