Pertamina Holds Fuel Prices Despite Crude Oil Surge Above $100
Jakarta. Pertamina Patra Niaga has kept the prices of subsidized and non-subsidized fuels unchanged for October, despite global crude oil prices rising above $100 per barrel last month.
The state-owned fuel distributor said Thursday that prices would remain at September levels, with subsidized fuels continuing to follow government policy through the end of 2026.
“As of Oct. 1, fuel prices, both subsidized and non-subsidized, remain the same as in September,” Pertamina Patra Niaga Vice President of Corporate Communication Kitty Andhora said in a statement.
Pertamina typically reviews prices for non-subsidized fuels on the first day of each month, based partly on global oil prices and the rupiah exchange rate. The company, however, decided not to make any changes in October, citing various factors and economic conditions affecting consumers.
“Considering various factors and the conditions of the public, we are still applying the same prices as in the previous period,” Kitty said.
Pertamina raised prices for several non-subsidized fuels in September.
The price of Pertamax Green 95 rose to Rp19,150 ($1.15) per liter on Sept. 2 from Rp16,600 previously. Pertamax Turbo increased to Rp19,600 per liter from Rp18,300, while Dexlite rose to Rp23,700 from Rp19,700.
Pertamina Dex increased to Rp25,200 per liter from Rp21,150. The price of Pertamax, however, remained unchanged at Rp15,950 per liter.
The prices of subsidized Pertalite and BioSolar also remain unchanged at Rp10,000 and Rp6,800 per liter, respectively.
