Jakarta. Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) has distributed assistance to the people affected by the catastrophic flood and landslides that had devastated Sumatra.

As part of the Pertamina Peduli program, the company had rolled out aid packages comprising blankets, daily necessities, and personal hygiene kits to the communities in West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Aceh. PIS had also partnered with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and non-governmental organization Filantra for the distribution process.

"We hope this assistance can help ease the burden on residents while the recovery process in the affected areas continues," PIS Acting Corporate Secretary Alih Istik Wahyuni said.

PIS is also currently preparing more assistance in partnership with BNPB.

"Further aid will continue to be distributed to reach the community evenly and according to needs on the ground. We hope this support can help ease the burden on affected residents," Alih said.
