Jakarta. State-run bank BNI recently said the company would roll out affordable homeownership financing facilities for 17,356 units next year.

Indonesia has what it calls the Home Ownership Liquidity Assistance (FLPP) program. This initiative allows low-income individuals to access affordable homeownership at a low interest rate. BNI has been backing this program as part of President Prabowo Subianto's 3 million housing plan.

Prabowo recently inaugurated the mass contract signing of 50,030 FLPP-backed housing units in Banten. The signing for 300 contracts took place in person, involving 11 distributing banks, while the remaining 49,730 contracts were conducted online by 39 distributing banks in 33 provinces and 110 districts/cities across Indonesia.

"BNI remains committed to being a strategic partner of the government in accelerating the provision of decent and affordable housing for low-income families through easy, fast, and accountable FLPP mortgage financing," BNI President Director Putrama Wahju Setyawan said.

The ceremony also included a symbolic handover to 10 representatives of low-income families, including teachers, small business owners, fishermen, and a member of the Army.

BNI has also inked an agreement with the Housing Ministry and the Public Housing Savings Management Agency BP Tapera. Under this pact, BNI will provide FLPP facilities for 17,356 housing units throughout 2026. The signing took place at the BP Tapera Head Office in Jakarta on Tuesday, along with 43 other banks. BNI is among the 10 banks with the largest FLPP quota.

BNI Director of Network and Retail Funding Rian Eriana Kaslan said that this agreement showed how BNI continued to play a key role in the housing sector. 

"With BNI's nationwide network and close synergy with BP Tapera and the Housing Ministry, we are optimistic that the 2026 FLPP distribution will be on-target, prudent, and make it easier for low-income families to own their first home," Rian said.

Going forward, BNI will continue to optimize its office network and all work areas to support the national housing program. This includes making sure that people are ready before taking the loan. It is also planning to promote the benefits of FLPP. BNI's involvement reflects the bank's commitment to not only provide financing, but also to build a foundation for social welfare and inclusive and sustainable economic growth
