‘Too Close to Call’: Muhadjir Helps Select Winner of 2023 B-Universe CSR Award
Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy became an honorary member of the jury on Thursday to select the winner among three finalists of B-Universe’s inaugural Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Awards.
The three companies, whose names are kept confidential until the official announcement later, have been carefully selected through a series of interviews and data examinations involving dozens of participants.
Muhadjir admitted that the final results were “too close to call” but a winner must be selected for the ultimate prize.
“It’s not so difficult to make the assessments but the three contestants perform equally very well -- they are separated by a razor-thin margin,” Muhadjir said at his office in Jakarta.
“The three would have been named co-winners if I were allowed to do so. However, I as an honorary member of the jury have to make a call so hopefully my decision doesn’t disappoint many. It’s based on the works by the CSR Awards’ organizers," Muhadjir said.
He praised B-Universe Media Holdings for organizing the event and giving him the opportunity to make the final assessment, saying that he believed other members of the jury had concluded their tasks with fair and reliable results.
On the same occasion, B-Universe Executive Chairman Enggartiasto Lukita said the finalists are the best among the best.
“I echo the minister’s remarks that the three finalists are the best among the best, so it won’t be easy to pick one as the winner,” Enggartiasto said.
“But we have to make a decision and the winner has been selected based on its care and works for the community and how the public responds to them -- we took these into account. We also consider the assistance and activities from which communities can take benefit, leading us to the conclusion that we will announce on May 31,” he added.
