Jakarta. Train operator Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KAI Commuter) is set to initiate a trial for an additional stop on the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Commuter Line (Basoetta) at Rawa Buaya Station in West Jakarta, starting March 1.

Previously, the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Commuter Line only made stops at Manggarai Station, BNI City Station, Duri Station, Batuceper Station, and Soekarno-Hatta Airport Station.

In an announcement on Friday, Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Anne Purba, stated, "To enhance the Commuter Line travel service, especially for the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Commuter Line, starting March 1, KAI Commuter will conduct a trial for the addition of stops at Rawa Buaya Station for passengers to embark and disembark."

Anne explained that alongside the addition of service stations for passenger boarding and alighting, KAI Commuter is also making adjustments to the departure and arrival schedules of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Commuter Line at Soekarno-Hatta Airport Station.

"The adjustment is earlier by around 3-4 minutes from the initial departure from Soekarno-Hatta Airport Station and approximately 4-5 minutes longer to arrive at Soekarno-Hatta Airport Station," she said.

During this trial period, Anne added that KAI Commuter would offer a promotional fare. Users at Rawa Buaya Station can utilize the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Commuter Line service to BNI City Station or Manggarai Station at a rate of Rp 15,000 ($1). Meanwhile, the fare to Soetta Airport Station is Rp 25,000. Additionally, the promotional fare from Rawa Buaya Station to Duri Station or vice versa is Rp 10,000.

KAI Commuter has also enhanced service facilities, incorporating additional seats in the waiting area for Soekarno-Hatta Airport Commuter Line departures and updating electronic gates at Rawa Buaya Station to streamline transactions for KMT (Multi-Trip Card) and Soekarno-Hatta Airport Commuter Line tickets.

"In addition, we are gradually adding other service facilities such as additional toilets, bicycle parking, fans, and the inclusion of free drinking water dispenser facilities," said Anne.

Anticipating 56 journeys daily, KAI Commuter estimates that Rawa Buaya Station will serve around 1,029 users of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Commuter Line, encompassing both boarding and alighting each day.

Furthermore, Rawa Buaya Station currently facilitates approximately 124 Tangerang Commuter Line journeys daily, attracting an average user volume of 7,000 on working days.

"With the addition of this station stop, it is hoped that the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Commuter Line can become an alternative transportation choice for residents around the Tangerang area, facilitating travel to the airport or central office areas around Sudirman and Manggarai, or vice versa," she concluded.
