Jakarta. The Attorney General’s Office confirmed on Wednesday that investigators had searched the headquarters of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) in Jakarta, one day after President Prabowo Subianto unexpectedly removed the agency’s top leadership.

The search was conducted by prosecutors from the office’s special crimes division, Attorney General’s Office spokesperson Muhammad Jefri said.

“Investigators from the special crimes unit of the Attorney General’s Office did indeed conduct a search at the National Nutrition Agency office,” Jefri told reporters.

According to Jefri, the search was carried out to strengthen evidence gathering in an ongoing investigation. However, he declined to disclose details regarding the case being investigated.

He also did not specify what documents or evidence had been seized during the operation.

Jefri said authorities would provide further information once the investigation progressed.

The search came a day after Prabowo abruptly dismissed Dadan Hindayana as head of the National Nutrition Agency, only hours after the two appeared together at a school inspection related to the government’s free nutritious meals program in Jakarta.

Prabowo appointed longtime ally Nanik Deyang, previously deputy head of the agency, as Dadan’s replacement.

Two other senior agency officials, deputy heads Lodewijk Paulus and Saudara Sony Sanjaya, were also removed from office, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi announced at the Presidential Palace.

Prasetyo said the president had continued receiving feedback from ministries, government institutions, and the public regarding implementation of the free nutritious meals program, a flagship initiative of Prabowo’s administration and a central promise of his presidential campaign.

Nanik will be assisted by Agustina Arum Sari and Major General Trenggono as deputy heads of the agency.

“We expect the new leadership of the National Nutrition Agency to immediately undertake internal consolidation, strengthen coordination across ministries and agencies, enhance cooperation with provincial, regency, and municipal governments, and ensure that all agency programs continue to run effectively,” Prasetyo said.
