2024 Presidential Election Results: Prabowo-Gibran Secures Victory in Jakarta
Jakarta. In the Jakarta vote count for the 2024 Presidential Election, Prabowo Subianto and his running mate, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, clinched victory, surpassing Anies Baswedan, who has governed the region for the past 5 years.
Prabowo secured 2,692,011 votes, narrowly exceeding Anies, who garnered 2,653,762 votes. Meanwhile, presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo lagged significantly behind with a vote count of 1,115,139. The total valid votes reached 6,460,911, with 97,823 invalid votes, resulting in a total of 6,558,734 ballots cast.
These results stem from the national recapitulation of the presidential election votes in DKI Jakarta, conducted at the KPU RI office on Jalan Imam Bonjol, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat, on Tuesday.
"In the name of God, I announce the result valid," said the Chairman of KPU, Hasyim Asy'ari, accompanied by a single gavel strike signifying approval during the plenary recapitulation meeting.
As of Monday, the presidential duo of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who is President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's oldest son, have secured a commanding lead in nine provinces, accumulating a total of 26,120,118 votes.
