Jakarta. Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) has increased the regular schedule of Whoosh high-speed trains from 44 trips per day in April to 48 trips per day in May.

"The decision to add daily trips for the Whoosh high-speed train is based on an evaluation of the previous period, which indicated the need for additional regular trips," stated KCIC Corporate Secretary GM Eva Chairunisa in Bandung, West Java, on Saturday.

She revealed that the high-speed train, which initially operated only 14 trips per day, has seen a significant increase in popularity. Now, in May, the number of daily trips has risen to 48.

According to Eva, passengers have started trying, enjoying, and eventually regularly using the Whoosh high-speed train service.

"With the increase in the number of trips, the public has more schedule options to choose from according to their needs. Passengers can now better plan their trips due to the increased schedule flexibility," she said.

Eva added that KCIC is reintroducing dynamic fare schemes by offering more affordable prices during specific travel periods.

"This strategy has proven to have a positive impact on Whoosh operations and passenger services. The fare for the Whoosh high-speed train is quite affordable, starting from only Rp 150,000 ($10)," said Eva.

Eva also mentioned that the first departure schedule for Whoosh from Halim Station starts at 06:40 a.m. Jakarta time, and from Tegalluar Station at 05:50 a.m.

As for the last departure schedule from both stations, it is at 08:30 p.m. All departure schedules are designed based on passenger needs.
