Yogyakarta. Yogyakarta welcomed the BTV Semesta Berpesta festival on Saturday, drawing crowds to Stadion Kridosono for a day packed with music, dance, and community fun.

The festival, which has already toured Palembang, Bandung, Tangerang, and Malang, brought its Galactic Soundstage to Yogyakarta under the theme “Sound of The Universe.” Local and visiting residents joined the lively Zumba Party in the morning, with participants in colorful sportswear dancing enthusiastically under the sun to fast-paced remixes.

Families also enjoyed children’s coloring competitions, dance contests, and a food bazaar offering a variety of local delicacies.

By late afternoon, the stage will welcome performances from popular Indonesian artists, including The Hud, Banda Neira, Diskoplo, Nabila Taqiyyah, and Gildcoustic. “Don’t miss the chance to have fun with us at Semesta Berpesta,” Gildcoustic said ahead of their performance.

Adding a special touch to the festival, the internationally acclaimed Vocalista Paradisso choir from UPN ‘Veteran’ Yogyakarta performed during the event, presenting a set that included Indonesia’s national anthem. Vocalista Paradisso recently earned two gold medals at the 1st Thailand International Choir Festival in Bangkok.

B-Universe Executive Chairman Enggartiasto Lukita said the festival aims to create a space for music, sports, and cultural experiences that engage communities directly and interactively in each city. “They [Vocalista Paradisso] will perform three songs, starting with Indonesia Raya,” he said.

UPN Veteran Yogyakarta Rector Prof. Dr. Mohamad Irhas Effendi expressed his support for the involvement of his students in the festival, describing it as a valuable platform for positive expression. “We welcome any opportunity that allows our students to express themselves positively,” he said.
