Thousands Flock to BTV Semesta Berpesta Festival in Yogyakarta
Jakarta. Thousands of residents gathered at Kridosono Stadium on Saturday for the “BTV Semesta Berpesta 2026” entertainment festival, which brought a full day of music, fitness activities, culinary events and community celebrations to the Indonesian city.
The festival, organized by BTV, after a successful event in Bali, attracted visitors from across Indonesia and is expected to draw more than 10,000 attendees throughout the day.
The music and entertainment festival will take place at Stadion Kridosono, featuring a lineup of national musicians and local creative communities. Artists confirmed to perform include Ronny Parulian, Aftershine, Traffic Jam, and Pertelon Koplo.
Festivities began in the morning with a fun walk, Zumba sessions, coloring competitions and a local small-business bazaar featuring traditional foods and modern street snacks. Participants crowded the stadium grounds, many arriving with friends, families and community groups.
One of the highlights was a large-scale Zumba session dominated by middle-aged women, who enthusiastically followed energetic dance routines led by fitness instructors.
“So much fun. The music and movements kept changing so it never got boring,” said Linda, a participant from Yogyakarta who joined the session with friends.
The 2.5-kilometer fun walk also drew strong participation as residents walked through several major roads in Yogyakarta before returning to the stadium. Organizers offered hundreds of prizes, including electric bicycles, household appliances and a grand prize car giveaway.
The top prize, a Daihatsu Ayla, was won by 68-year-old Alu Subagyo from Purworejo, Central Java, who said he was shocked by his unexpected win.
“I’m very surprised and emotional because I never imagined winning a car,” he said. “I always join community fun walks whenever there is one.”
The event also featured participants wearing colorful regional costumes, adding a cultural dimension to the festival. One attendee from Yogyakarta wore a traditional “edan-edanan” costume inspired by local culture, while another participant traveled from North Kalimantan dressed in regional attire.
As evening approached, organizers prepared music performances and additional entertainment featuring Indonesian musicians and creative performances.
BTV said the festival aims to promote positive energy, community engagement and accessible entertainment across Indonesian cities through large-scale public events.
