Sri Mulyani Discusses Sustainable Finance and Climate Initiatives with World Bank President in Brazil
Sao Paulo. Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati engaged in a constructive meeting with World Bank President Ajay Banga at the sidelines of the G-20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors gathering in Sao Paulo. The discussions centered on various areas of collaboration between Indonesia and the World Bank, with a particular focus on energy transition.
"We had a brief exchange of ideas amidst our respective G-20 agendas. We delved into several topics related to the collaboration between Indonesia and the World Bank," stated Sri Mulyani in a press release received in Jakarta on Thursday.
Among the key discussion points were global energy transition, including carbon credits, cooperation on the Energy Transition Mechanism (ETM), the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP), and the Climate Investment Fund-Renewable Energy Integration (CIF-REI).
Additionally, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani and World Bank President Banga addressed issues related to the G-20, notably the G-20 Joint Finance and Health Task Force (JFHTF), with Indonesia serving as co-chair alongside Italy this year.
The leaders also delved into the agendas of climate and sustainable finance, along with discussions on the global financial architecture forum.
The meeting took place ahead of the G-20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors gathering in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Sri Mulyani described the encounter as "a brief, intense, and highly beneficial conversation.". One of the crucial topics slated for discussion during the meeting is the developments in the global economy.
