Singapore PM Lawrence Wong Expected to Speak at Indonesia’s Investor Daily Summit
Jakarta. Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong is expected to attend the upcoming Investor Daily Summit, Indonesia’s largest economic forum, as a keynote speaker this October.
Organizers say Wong’s presence would provide valuable insights into global economic and geopolitical dynamics, helping both policymakers and business leaders in Indonesia navigate challenges and opportunities.
The annual summit is hosted by Investor Daily, an economic newspaper under leading media group B-Universe Media Holdings.
On Tuesday, B-Universe Executive Chairman Enggartiasto Lukita, along with the board of directors, visited the Singapore Embassy in Jakarta to deliver an official invitation to Wong through Ambassador Kwok Fook Seng.
Ambassador Kwok warmly welcomed the delegation. “It is an honor to host Mr. Lukita, an old friend of Singapore. We are pleased to reconnect with him and meet the B-Universe team,” he said.
Beyond the invitation, Enggartiasto, a former trade minister, and Kwok also discussed current global economic and geopolitical developments, as well as potential media cooperation on covering key areas of Indonesia-Singapore relations, including investment, tourism, and trade.
“We spoke about global uncertainties and challenges. We know that Indonesia and Singapore are strong partners,” Kwok added.
The ambassador also praised Indonesian media for supporting Singapore’s public diplomacy efforts, citing their extensive coverage of President Prabowo Subianto’s attendance at Singapore’s National Day Parade 2025 at the National Gallery.
The Investor Daily Summit will address pressing issues affecting the global economy and Indonesia’s policy responses to them. It serves as the culmination of a series of monthly economic discussions hosted by Investor Daily.
Most recently, the July 28 Investor Daily Roundtable featured Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, who shared updates on Indonesia’s trade tariff negotiations with the United States, shortly after leading talks in Washington.
