Jakarta. The State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Ministry and Danantara Asset Management, as shareholders of state railway company Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI, have overhauled the company’s board of commissioners and directors to strengthen corporate strategy, accelerate innovation, and enhance service quality.

Bobby Rasyidin, former president director of Len Industri, has been appointed as KAI’s new president director, replacing Didiek Hartantyo.

Under Indonesia’s new State-Owned Enterprises Law No. 1 of 2025, the appointment and dismissal of SOE commissioners and directors can be made without a physical shareholders’ meeting. The process is carried out directly through an SOE ministerial decree, which also serves as a resolution of the general meeting of shareholders. This provision was also present in the previous SOE Law No. 19 of 2003 and the Limited Liability Company Law No. 40 of 2007.
