Chinese Automakers Roll Out Electric SUVs Under Rp 600 Million at Jakarta Auto Show
Jakarta. Chinese electric vehicle makers are stepping up their push into Indonesia, rolling out electric SUV models priced below Rp 600 million ($35,700) at this week’s Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS).
Jetour introduced its T2 electric SUV to Indonesian consumers at a promotional price of Rp 568 million. While the model has been sold in limited volumes over recent months, the auto show marks its first major public showcase.
“IIMS 2026 is our momentum to introduce the T2’s character more closely, following the recent nationwide delivery of units,” said Peter Zhang, president director of Jetour Sales Indonesia, on Tuesday.
Jetour positions the T2 as a rugged SUV designed for both daily commuting and weekend adventures. The company is offering a six-year, unlimited-kilometer warranty on the body and engine, along with three years or 45,000 km of free maintenance covering parts and labor.
Jetour also displayed two other SUV models at the show: the Dashing and the X70 Plus.
Fellow Chinese automaker Changan showcased its Deepal S07 electric SUV, highlighting a suite of advanced safety and connectivity features.
“Beyond offering a smart and comfortable interior, the Deepal S07 prioritizes safety through its advanced driver assistance system and golden shield battery, designed for maximum protection,” said Setiawan Surya, CEO of Changan Indonesia.
The Deepal S07 centers its smart features on a 15.6-inch main display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chipset, enabling fast response and seamless graphics. The screen can rotate up to 15 degrees toward either the driver or front passenger and supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Additional features include gesture recognition for hands-free control of calls and music, an in-car monitor for taking cabin photos, and a 55-inch augmented reality head-up display providing 3D navigation without distracting drivers from the road.
Priced from Rp 599 million in Jakarta, the Deepal S07 comes with an eight-year or 240,000 km traction battery warranty, an eight-year or 150,000 km warranty on the electric drive system and vehicle controller, and a free service package covering five years or 60,000 km.
The launches underscore intensifying competition in Indonesia’s EV market, as Chinese brands move aggressively to attract buyers with feature-rich electric SUVs at increasingly accessible price points.
