BNI Investor Daily Summit 2024: Leaders, Including Jokowi and Prabowo, Tackle Economic Challenges

Jakarta. The BNI Investor Daily Summit 2024 will take place on Oct. 8-9 at the Jakarta Convention Center, focusing on the theme “Accelerating Resilient Growth.” This event will gather government officials, business leaders, and investors to discuss strategies for overcoming current global and national economic challenges, with President Joko Widodo set to deliver the opening remarks.

The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with an introduction by Enggartiasto Lukita, Chairman of B-Universe, followed by an official opening ceremony led by President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo at 8:45 a.m. Attendees can expect the exhibition to open at 9:15 a.m., followed by a welcoming speech from Royke Tumilaar, the President Director of state-owned Bank Negara Indonesia, at 9:45 a.m.

The first plenary session, titled “Indonesia and the New Global Economic Order,” will feature distinguished speakers, including former World Bank Chief Economist Justin Yi Fu Lin and former Trade Minister and World Bank Managing Director Mari Elka Pangestu, starting at 10:30 a.m. After a lunch break at 12:00 p.m., the afternoon sessions will include a special session on the future of mining at 1:30 p.m., featuring executives from mining giants Freeport Indonesia, Amman Mineral, and Petrindo Jaya Kreasi. Additional sessions will focus on topics such as the potential of Indonesia's circular economy, the hospitality industry’s role in economic growth, and business transformation through technology adoption.

On the second day, the summit will begin with plenary session three at 9:30 a.m., addressing the prospects of the ASEAN economy and its impact on Indonesia, featuring speakers like Rebecca Sta Maria, Executive Director of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Secretariat, and Lili Yan Ing, Lead Advisor at the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA). At 10:30 a.m., a fireside chat will be held with Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia.

The afternoon sessions will delve into investing in the future and regional government strategies for attracting foreign direct investment, as well as discussions on building a robust logistics ecosystem in Indonesia. At 3:00 p.m., a plenary session will focus on balancing the roles of state-owned enterprises and the private sector in Indonesia’s economy. The summit will conclude with a statement of vision by President-elect Prabowo Subianto.
