Astra Reports Half a Million Car Sales in Indonesia up to November

Jakarta. Astra International, the authorized distributor and manufacturer of various global automotive brands, announced the sale of 513,058 cars in Indonesia during the 11 months leading up to November this year.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the company reported a 1.16 percent decrease in sales compared to the 519,085 units sold in the corresponding period last year.

As of November, Astra commands a 56 percent share of the national automotive market, which accumulated 921,058 sales.

Toyota, inclusive of the luxury brand Lexus, accounted for the majority of Astra's sales, reaching 306,941 units, followed by Daihatsu (175,195), Isuzu (29,027), UD Trucks (1,703), and Peugeot (192).

Astra’s monthly sales for November totaled 47,189, marking a 7 percent decline year-on-year.

Toyota contributed 31,140 sales to the November figures, reflecting a 17.4 percent increase from the same month last year. Daihatsu recorded 13,545 sales, while Isuzu reported 2,366 sales.

Apart from the Astra group, Honda marked the highest sales figures in November with 10,599 units, followed by Mitsubishi (9,231), Suzuki (7,125), Hyundai (3,055), Wuling (2,670), and Nissan (108).
