Kreta Indo Artha Introduces New 11-Seater Kia Carnival in Indonesia

Jakarta. Car distributor Kreta Indo Artha (KIA) unveiled The New Kia Carnival model for the Indonesian market on Wednesday.

The New Kia Carnival represents a fresh update to the fourth-generation premium multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) model. Previously introduced at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2021 event, this model now boasts refreshed exterior and interior designs.

"A proud moment as Kia introduces The New Kia Carnival, featuring updated exterior and interior designs that add a sporty flair while retaining its luxurious essence as a premium MPV," said Ario Soerjo, Head of Marketing & Development Division at Kreta Indo Artha.

The updated Kia Carnival offers consumers three variants to choose from: the Premiere 7-seater, Premiere 11-seater, and Dynamic 11-seater.

Notable exterior changes include a new tiger nose grille and the integration of LED projector technology with high beam assist in the headlights. The New Carnival, spanning approximately 5.1 meters in length, also boasts smart power sliding doors on both sides and a smart power tailgate on the rear door.

Inside, passengers are greeted with a 12.3-inch connected entertainment screen compatible with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Electric adjustable seats with memory lumbar support adorn each passenger and driver seat.

Under the hood, the Kia New Carnival is powered by a Smartstream Engine D 2,200 cc CRDi diesel engine, delivering 194 PS of power and 441 Nm of torque. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, drivers can select from four driving modes: ECO, Comfort, Sport, and Smart.

"Why diesel? Diesel engines are renowned for their durability, efficiency, and smooth performance in the Indonesian market. The presence of this engine offers consumers an attractive alternative," explained Ario.

Currently imported as completely built-up units (CBU) from South Korea, Kreta Indo Artha is deliberating the possibility of local production for economic considerations.

The New Carnival is priced from Rp 960 million ($59,000) for the Dynamic 11-seater variant, Rp 998 million for the Premiere 11-seater, and Rp 1.155 billion for the Premiere 7-seater.
