Jakarta. Student achievements are an important indicator of educational success in nurturing the potential and character of young people. At Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH), these accomplishments are driven by students’ dedication and a campus environment that encourages them to grow and excel.

At UPH Awards 2026, more than 300 students received recognition for achievements throughout the 2025/2026 academic year. A total of 245 achievements were recorded, comprising 22 regional-level, 192 national-level and 31 international-level accomplishments. These achievements reflect students’ efforts to sharpen their skills, overcome challenges and represent the university in various competitions.

Held on Oct. 30, 2026, at the Grand Chapel of UPH’s Lippo Village Main Campus in Tangerang, UPH Awards is an annual event recognizing student accomplishments and their contributions to bringing the university’s name to prominence across various fields.

At the ceremony, UPH Rector Dr. (Hon.) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng.Sc., expressed his appreciation for the achievements and contributions of the university’s academic community, while reminding recipients not to become complacent. He encouraged everyone to continue striving for excellence while remaining humble and recognizing that their successes ultimately come through God’s grace.

“No achievement can be something we take pride in without God’s grace. Therefore, I remind everyone not to become arrogant, but to remain grateful for the glory of God and motivated to do better. Whatever we do, let us do our best as a contribution to honoring God in our lives,” the rector said.

Over the past three years, UPH students have recorded a steady increase in achievements, from 207 in 2024 to 236 in 2025, with the upward trend continuing in 2026. The figures reflect students’ commitment to developing their competencies and testing their abilities through competitions, while strengthening their competitiveness at regional, national and international levels.

Recognizing Potential, Embracing Growth and Making an Impact

Achievement is not only about results, but also about the learning process, overcoming challenges and discovering one’s potential. This is reflected in the accomplishments of UPH Awards 2026 recipients, including Tiffney Tyara Setyoko, a 2023 student in the Medical Education program.

In 2026, Tiffney won first place in both the regional and national rounds of the Outstanding Student Selection (PILMAPRES). She also secured first place with her team in the Anatomy Olympiad category of the An Adventure Towards the Human Body (AORTA) 2026 competition, along with several other achievements.

“For me, UPH Awards is not merely a recognition, but also a reminder of the journey, prayers and support of those closest to me. Since childhood, I have enjoyed participating in competitions as a way to channel the talents God has given me. I am also grateful that UPH provides me with opportunities to explore, participate in competitions, conduct research and try new things,” she said.

In the field of law, Valerie Elaine Tamzil, a 2024 student at the Faculty of Law, has also earned recognition through various competitions.

In 2025, she secured third place in the Indonesia International Moot Court competition alongside Anjarico Marliendro, and second place in the UNITWIN Legislative Camp & Competition with Livia Leta Dharmawan, Ruben Chiesa Untang and Verlyn Adelaide Tzuriel Shillo.

In 2026, Valerie continued her winning streak by securing second place in the Brown Mosten International Client Consultation Competition (ICCC) with Gabrielle Liman.

“Participating in competitions gives me opportunities to challenge myself, learn new things and exchange perspectives beyond the classroom. Throughout the process, the support of lecturers, senior students and friends at UPH has been invaluable. I hope UPH Awards will continue to serve as a platform for recognition and motivation for students to grow and achieve,” she said.

Meanwhile, Gilberto Farelino Totomone, a 2024 student in the Psychology program, has demonstrated his sporting achievements in Shorinji Kempo martial arts.

At the 2025 National Martial Arts Championships in Kudus, he won first place in the Men’s Kyu Kenshi Solo Embu and Men’s Kyu Kenshi Pair Embu categories.

He continued his success at the 2026 Shorinji Kempo National Championship for the Central Jakarta Mayor’s Cup, winning first place in the Men’s Kyu Kenshi Solo Embu and Men’s Kyu Kenshi Pair Embu categories, as well as second place in the Mixed Team Embu category.

Farelino’s achievements demonstrate how UPH provides students with opportunities to develop their potential and excel in both academic and nonacademic fields. Through various activities, students can explore their interests and sharpen their abilities in line with their individual strengths.

“Receiving this recognition at UPH Awards motivates me to continue developing my potential. My greatest motivation is my parents, because I want to make them proud through my achievements. However, winning is not just about becoming a champion, but also about continuing to grow through every process. To my fellow students, never be afraid to take the first step and always rely on God throughout your journey,” Farelino said.

Rector’s Award 2026: Faculty of Health Sciences Named Best Faculty

In addition to recognizing students, UPH presented the Rector’s Award 2026 to the faculty demonstrating the strongest performance in supporting student achievement and development.

This year, the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) received the award for its contribution to encouraging students to participate actively, develop their potential and excel.

The assessment covered several aspects, including student achievements and recognition, total participation in the Student Engagement Program (SEP), and student involvement in leadership, spiritual development and learning activities outside their academic programs.

Lecturers’ roles in mentoring students also formed an important part of the assessment.

The award recognizes FIKES’ efforts to foster an academic environment that supports students in developing their potential and achieving success both inside and outside the classroom.

Commenting on the achievement, the rector said the recognition should encourage FIKES to strengthen its contributions and continue striving for excellence.

“Congratulations on this achievement. This award reminds us to remain committed to doing better in the future. May every effort and achievement we accomplish continue to serve as our best contribution to the glory of God,” he said.

Recognizing Outstanding Lecturers and Student Affairs Coordinators

For the first time, UPH Awards 2026 introduced the Outstanding Contributions Awards for faculty mentors and faculty student affairs coordinators.

The awards recognize lecturers who actively guide students in achieving success through competitions, scientific publications, intellectual property (IP) and innovation.

Meanwhile, faculty student affairs coordinators are recognized for their contributions to organizing student activities, developing student leadership and supporting various university programs.

In the Faculty Mentor category, first place went to Feronia Reni Cyrena Santoso, M.S.Farm., a lecturer in UPH’s undergraduate Pharmacy program.

Second place was awarded to Prof. Dr. Ir. Adolf Jan Nexon Parhusip, M.Si., a lecturer in the Food Technology program, followed by Chrysan Gomargana, M.Psi., Psychologist, a lecturer in the Psychology program, in third place.

For Feronia, the award reflects the hard work, enthusiasm and trust of the students she has mentored. She sees their achievements as the result of a shared journey of growth between lecturers and students.

“As a faculty mentor, my role is not only to provide academic guidance, but also to support students’ character development and potential. I maintain open and continuous communication to understand each student’s needs and challenges, while providing motivation and fostering a positive environment where everyone supports one another. I want them to feel supported and know they have a place to return to throughout their development,” Feronia said.

In the Faculty Student Affairs Coordinator category, first place went to Heidy Dianta Selanno, S.Si., from the Faculty of Psychology.

Second place was awarded to Luke Eka Putra, S.Kom., M.Div., from the Faculty of Nursing, while Kevin Aprilio Wibowo, S.T., M.T., from the Faculty of Science and Technology, secured third place.

Heidy views the recognition as a reminder to serve with sincerity and responsibility.

Her role includes coordinating student activities and services, mentoring student organizations and committees, facilitating administrative needs, and bridging communication between students and the UPH academic community.

“Every student has a different growth journey. Therefore, we need to provide space and opportunities for them to develop according to their individual potential and interests. I hope student development programs will become more focused and sustainable, ensuring that every initiative not only encourages activities and achievements, but also creates a meaningful impact on students’ character development,” Heidy said.

Fostering Achievement and Developing Impactful Individuals

Dr. Andry M. Panjaitan, S.T., M.T., CPHCM., UPH Associate Vice President of Student Development, Alumni, and Corporate Relations, said student achievement requires sustained support from various stakeholders across the university.

“At UPH, we believe that every student is endowed by God with talents and potential that must be developed responsibly. Therefore, we provide a learning environment that encourages students to embrace opportunities and give their best.

“We see achievement not merely as an individual accomplishment, but as an expression of UPH’s vision to provide holistic and transformative education that nurtures students to grow as whole individuals, develop strong character and become ready to contribute to society.

“Ultimately, we hope that every talent developed and every achievement attained will glorify God and bring a positive impact to others,” Dr. Andry said.

The achievements celebrated at UPH Awards 2026 demonstrate how success grows through students’ dedication and the support of lecturers, faculties, facilities and a campus environment that encourages the development of individual potential.

Through UPH Awards, the university not only celebrates accomplishments, but also encourages its entire academic community to continue learning, embrace new challenges and develop their abilities across various fields.

This commitment is reflected in UPH’s holistic education and diverse personal development programs, which prepare students to become future leaders who fear God, excel and make a meaningful impact on society.
