OJK Seeks Repatriation of Former Investree CEO Adrian Gunadi from Qatar
Jakarta. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the law in the case against Adrian Asharyanto Gunadi, the former CEO of peer-to-peer lending platform Investree Radhika Jaya (Investree), who has been named a suspect in a financial services crime and is now listed on both a national wanted list and Interpol’s red notice.
In a statement released Friday, OJK said it is working closely with domestic and international authorities to facilitate Adrian's repatriation to Indonesia, where he is expected to face both criminal and civil accountability.
The regulator expressed disappointment over reports that authorities in Qatar have allowed Adrian to assume a senior executive position at JTA Investree Doha Consultancy, despite his current legal status in Indonesia.
“OJK regrets that permission was granted for Adrian to act as CEO in Qatar, considering his red notice and fugitive status in Indonesia,” the agency said. “We will strengthen cooperation with law enforcement agencies both at home and abroad to address this matter and ensure that he is brought back to face justice.”
The financial regulator emphasized its prior actions in response to the Investree case, including the revocation of the company’s business license on October 21, 2024, due to failure to meet minimum equity requirements and various other violations.
OJK has also imposed an official ban on Adrian from holding any strategic position within the financial industry, froze his bank accounts, and initiated asset tracing. In addition, Adrian was officially named a suspect for illegal fundraising activities, as stipulated under Article 46 of the Banking Law, following an investigation by OJK’s Financial Services Sector Investigation Department (DPJK).
“OJK is firmly committed to maintaining a sound and trustworthy financial system,” the agency said. “We will continue to take strong action against any violations of financial regulations as part of our effort to uphold the law and protect public confidence in the financial sector.”
