Jakarta. KB Bank reaffirmed its commitment to bilateral cultural relations as the lender applauded the 2025 Indonesian Literature & Korean Culture Study Awards event.

As many as 250 people had come to the event that took place at Jakarta Indonesia Korean School. This awards ceremony also highlighted the best works from three literary competitions: Indonesian Stories, Indonesian Ecology Stories, and My Korean Stories. Each category allowed people of all generations to express their experience and cultural reflections through short stories, essays, and poems. KB Bank Indonesia President Director Kunardy Darma Lie and KB Bank Finance Director Jang Hyuk Im attended the event.

“KB Bank believes that Indonesia-Korea ties are not only built through economic and financial cooperation, but also through cultural closeness. Through our support for this literary event, we want to be part of the effort to strengthen understanding, tolerance, and friendship between the people of both countries,” Kunardy said.

“Creativity in literature and art is one of the most sincere forms of  expression of a nation. We are proud to be present  and support a space that allows the younger generations of Indonesia and Korea to meet through stories, ideas, and positive values,” he stated.

Traditional Indonesian and Korean performances ranging from angklung, saman, to K-dance also graced the ceremony.

The Indonesian & Korean Culture Study (IKCS) and the Korean Association Indonesia had partnered to hold the competition. It also received the backing of the Overseas Koreans Agency, the Korea–Indonesia Forest Cooperation Centre (KIFC), among others.

Each winning work was selected through a curation process by a panel of judges consisting of academics, writers, and cultural figures from both countries.

KB Bank’s support to this event shows its commitment to provide space for creativity and stronger relationships. This also aligns with KB Bank's vision to become a financial partner that not only focuses on banking services but also plays an active role in social, educational, and cultural development.
