Jakarta. Muslim philanthropic organization Dompet Dhuafa announced Thursday that they had raised approximately Rp 426 billion ($25.2 million) throughout 2025, up by around 12.49% year-on-year (yoy).

Dompet Dhuafa’s board chairman, Ahmad Juwaini, told the Indonesian Humanitarian Summit that the organization raised nearly Rp 379 billion in 2024. Dompet Dhuafa also saw an increase in the beneficiaries, which totaled 3.6 million individuals throughout 2025. This marks an increase from about 3.3 million beneficiaries in 2024.

“Every year, we help around 3 million people. … Most of the people that we have helped are those who live in the disaster-hit areas,” Juwaini said in Jakarta.

Dompet Dhuafa has also rolled out almost Rp 426 billion in assistance throughout 2025, some of which has gone to the flood-hit Sumatra. The organization disbursed approximately Rp 414 billion the previous year.

Indonesia is the world’s largest Muslim-majority country. Dompet Dhuafa’s waqf under management — namely, endowment of property given by Muslims for charitable purposes — totaled around Rp 256.5 billion by the end of December, marking a 5.10% growth.

“This yielded about Rp 4.73 billion, so the return on assets stands at around 1.84%. This might be low in the business world, … but this shows how we need to allocate many of our waqf to more profitable sectors,” Juwaini said.
