BNI Prepares Rp19.51 Trillion in Cash Ahead of Christmas and New Year Holidays
Jakarta. State lender PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI has allocated Rp19.51 trillion in cash to ensure smooth transactions for the public during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holidays. The allocation is intended to anticipate an increase in transaction activity over an 11-day period, from Dec. 22, 2025 to Jan. 1, 2026.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that this liquidity readiness is focused on filling ATM networks and Cash Recycling Machines (CRMs), as well as providing cash at branch office outlets so that cash transaction services continue to run optimally throughout the year-end holidays.
“BNI has prepared sufficient cash in its ATM network and ensured the operational readiness of its banking services during the Christmas and New Year period so that the needs of the community continue to be well served,” Okki said in a press release.
In addition to preparing cash, BNI is also operating a number of outlets with limited services. A total of 27 outlets will operate on a limited basis on December 26, 2025, and 15 outlets on January 1, 2026, each from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. local time.
During this period, limited banking services will be provided, including Pertamina fuel transactions, Bulog transactions, tax payments, as well as deposits, withdrawals, and transfers between BNI accounts with a maximum amount of Rp 25 million in accordance with applicable regulations. This measure is intended to support the needs of people traveling home for the holidays and those engaging in year-end holiday activities.
BNI also ensures that certain international services remain operational. The International Remittance (ITR) service will operate normally on December 25, 26, and 31, 2025, while the Outward Telegraphic Remittance (OTR) service will adjust according to holiday regulations.
According to Okki, the company is committed to maintaining service quality so that people's banking activities are not hampered during the Christmas and New Year celebrations. Customers can still use BNI's extensive ATM network and various digital channels to meet their non-cash transaction needs.
“Customers can still use various BNI digital channels to meet their non-cash transaction needs during the holiday period,” he added.
BNI's liquidity and operational readiness reflect the company's efforts to maintain the reliability of banking services at a time of increased transaction demand. With adequate cash support, limited services at outlets, and optimization of digital channels, BNI strives to ensure the convenience and smoothness of public transactions throughout the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holidays.
