Wonosobo. Dieng Caldera Race 2026 concluded successfully on June 19–21, reaffirming its position as one of Indonesia’s most prestigious and highly anticipated trail running events.

A total of 2,000 participants from Indonesia and abroad gathered to experience running across the scenic Dieng Plateau, known for its breathtaking landscapes and challenging terrain.

This year’s edition featured four race categories tailored to different levels of ability and experience: 10K, 25K, 45K, and 85K. Each course offered a distinct challenge while showcasing the unique natural beauty of the Dieng Highlands.

Participant enthusiasm was evident from the opening day. Beyond serving as a sporting competition, the event also brought together running communities and contributed to strengthening Indonesia’s sports tourism ecosystem.

The flag-off ceremony marked one of the key moments of Dieng Caldera Race 2026. On Saturday, June 20, at 5 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, participants were flagged off by bank bjb Corporate Secretary Division Deputy Sani Ikhsan Maulana, bank bjb Regional 5 Deputy CEO Dody Krisnanda, and Risto Livian Surbakti, head of bank bjb’s Semarang branch office.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, June 21, at 7 a.m. Jakarta time, the flag-off ceremony was led by bank bjb Consumer and Retail Director Nunung Suhartini alongside several government officials and stakeholders, including Deputy Tourism Minister Ni Luh Puspa, Wonosobo Regent Afif Nurhidayat, Tourism Ministry Assistant Deputy for National Events Ni Komang Ayu Astiti, and Acting President Director of the Borobudur Authority Agency Yusuf Hartanto.

Their presence highlighted strong collaboration between the banking sector, the government, and the tourism industry in advancing sports tourism in Indonesia.

Throughout the race, participants were treated to sweeping mountain views, vast plantations, rolling green hills, and Dieng’s signature cool climate, creating a memorable running experience. Competitors tackled a range of challenges, from long climbs and technical descents to constantly changing terrain.

The success of Dieng Caldera Race 2026 was supported by bank bjb, which continues to promote healthy lifestyles, community activities, and regional economic development. This marks the second consecutive year that bank bjb has supported the event as part of its commitment to strengthening community-based sports ecosystems while encouraging tourism growth and local economic development.

Through the Dieng Caldera Race 2026 promotional program, bank bjb offered customers the opportunity to secure race entries through savings programs with qualifying deposit amounts, subject to applicable terms and conditions. The initiative provided an alternative route for runners and communities to participate in the event without competing for limited slots during the highly competitive registration period.

Bandung-based participant Andi Pratama said the program made it easier to obtain a race entry.

“Usually, I have to compete for a slot when registration opens. This year, I secured my entry through the bank bjb program with a much simpler process,” he said.

In addition to facilitating participation, bank bjb enhanced the event experience through various activities at its “Promo Seru Pakai DIGI” booth.

Through the DIGI bank bjb application, visitors enjoyed a range of exclusive offers throughout the event, including an online account opening program with a Rp 50,000 DigiCash reward, Rp 15,000 food and beverage vouchers for minimum transactions of Rp 35,000, and Rp 50,000 shopping vouchers for non-food purchases with a minimum spend of Rp 150,000.

Visitors also had the opportunity to participate in interactive activities at the booth to receive exclusive bank bjb merchandise. The activation formed part of the bank’s efforts to deliver practical and relevant digital transaction experiences that create added value for customers.

Beyond the sporting experience, Dieng Caldera Race 2026 also generated economic benefits for local communities. The large number of participants and visitors helped drive business activity across sectors, including food and beverage, accommodation, transportation, and local products.

bank bjb views collaboration between sports, tourism, and local economic empowerment as a sustainable approach that delivers long-term benefits. Going forward, the bank will continue to support community activities and events that create positive social impact while contributing to the growth of sports tourism in Indonesia
