Astra Infra Launches Ruang Temoe to Empower Disabled, Neurodivergent Entrepreneurs
Jakarta. Astra Tol Nusantara (Astra Infra), in collaboration with Astari Marga Sarana, has launched Ruang Temoe, an inclusive collaborative space at Resta Pendopo Km 456 designed to support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) run by people with disabilities and neurodivergent individuals.
"Astra Infra, through Resta Pendopo Km 456, is committed to supporting equal opportunities for all individuals. Through Ruang Temoe, we aim to provide an empowering platform for MSMEs run by people with disabilities and neurodivergent individuals by showcasing their best products to the public, particularly motorists traveling along the Semarang–Solo toll road," said Daisy Setiawan, President Director of Resta Pendopo Km 456. "We hope this initiative will contribute to creating a more inclusive environment while providing greater opportunities for our friends to become economically empowered and independent," she added.
Ruang Temoe features a wide range of products created in collaboration with disabled and neurodivergent entrepreneurs, including body care products, handicrafts, accessories, fashion items, and environmentally friendly creative products. Participating partners include Dewijaya Care, Puka, Filoksenia Foundation, Cemara Paper, Billa Creations, and Athaya Arts.
The products showcased represent not only creativity and quality but also the values of empowerment, independence, and self-expression.
Beyond serving as a retail and promotional space, Ruang Temoe also provides employment opportunities for people with disabilities as operational crew members. The initiative allows them to gain hands-on customer service experience while developing professional skills that support greater workplace readiness and independence.
The addition of Ruang Temoe further strengthens Resta Pendopo Km 456's role as more than just a rest area, transforming it into a public space that delivers added value to the community.
The rest area offers a range of facilities to improve visitor comfort, including spacious parking areas, free clean restrooms, a mosque, food and souvenir outlets, as well as accessible infrastructure such as elevators and ramps for people with disabilities. Visitors can also enjoy children's play areas, a free reading corner, and various activities designed to provide a more enjoyable and refreshing travel experience.
Astra Infra Group has also advanced inclusivity through a range of initiatives, including accessible rest area facilities, empowerment programs for a special education institution for students with disabilities SLB Wahana Inklusi, coffee trainer development for Mata Hati Koffie, scholarships and educational support for SKH Aditya Silih Asih, and collaborations with people with disabilities and neurodivergent artists.
"In line with Astra's 2030 Sustainability Aspirations, Astra Infra remains committed to creating added value through initiatives that deliver tangible benefits to society. We believe that inclusive community empowerment is an essential part of achieving sustainable business operations," said Beny Priyatna Kusumah, Division Head of Sustainability Management at Astra Infra.
Through Ruang Temoe, Astra Infra and Resta Pendopo Km 456 aim to continue developing a platform that brings together creativity, collaboration, and community empowerment. The company said it will continue expanding initiatives that generate positive social impact while strengthening the implementation of its sustainability commitments.
