VP-Elect Gibran Visits B-Universe’s Headquarters in PIK 2
Jakarta. Vice president-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka visited B-Universe Media Holdings’ headquarters in PIK 2 on Wednesday.
The 36-year-old politician sought to talk about the incoming government's policies, including the free school meal program. B-Universe's executive chairman Enggartiasto Lukita --alongside the company’s top brass-- greeted Gibran during his visit.
"I came here to talk about free school meal program as well as the domestic processing policies, among others," Gibran said.
Gibran is the eldest son of the incumbent President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo. Gibran --alongside his successor Prabowo Subianto-- will take their oath of office this October. Prabowo, 72, will become Indonesia’s oldest president in history. Gibran will be the youngest person to assume the country’s vice presidential post.
One of Prabowo-Gibran’s flagship policies include feeding school children across the archipelago free lunches in a bid to slash the national stunting rate. Trial runs for this program are currently underway so the incoming government has a better picture of what would be the best scheme for this program.
Prabowo-Gibran will also carry on Jokowi's domestic processing policy. This strategy sees Indonesia processing its natural resources at home to create greater added value for the economy.
