Jakarta. YA, the suspect in the murder of Raden Andante "Dante" Khalif Pramudityo, the son of actress Tamara Tyasmara and her ex-husband DJ Angger Dimas, confessed to submerging the 6-year-old child in a swimming pool for respiratory training. YA was Tamara's boyfriend.

"The reason is for breathing exercises, to make Dante stronger and not afraid of water," said Commissioner Wira Satya Triputra, Director of General Criminal Investigation of Jakarta Metropolitan Police, on Sunday.

He said YA swam with Dante for 2.5 hours in the Palem swimming pool, Duren Sawit in East Jakarta, on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Head of Violence Crime Sub-Directorate at Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Rovan Richard Mahenu, said the suspect had been detained following a thorough interrogation involving 62 questions.

"In the recording, it shows scenes of the victim's head being submerged 12 times, and the details will be conveyed later," he said when met in Jakarta on Friday.

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police have charged the suspect in Dante's death with multiple offenses, including premeditated murder, which could result in the death penalty if convicted.

Angger Dimas said he is not acquainted with YA, the partner of his ex-wife. Furthermore, Tamara has never introduced YA to him. Additionally, Tamara frequently entrusted Dante to YA, whom she trusted.

"As a father, I will continue to fight (for justice) for my son," said Angger Dimas.

Tamara admitted that she did not expect her boyfriend to be the perpetrator of Dante's murder. Tamara also dismissed rumors that she ignored the case of her son's death.

In addition, her visit to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police was also to submit additional evidence to investigators, namely the medical records of her deceased son.

"Alhamdulillah (praise God), the suspect has been revealed and arrested. I didn't keep quiet. If I keep quiet, why would I come (to Jakarta Metropolitan Police)?" said Tamara on Friday.

Tamara entrusts the legal process entirely to the police. She also hopes that the police will reveal the motive for the murder of her son.

University of Indonesia criminologist Adrianus Meliala asked the police to open the contents of digital conversations on Tamara Tyasmara's phone with her boyfriend.

"One thing that needs to be explored is the role of the mother, as it took a long time for this case to be revealed," said Adrianus in an interview with BTV.

Adrianus mentioned that it was unusual for the mother not to request the immediate opening of surveillance cameras or CCTV after the incident.
