DJ Angger Dimas Suspects Foul Play in Tragic Death of Son
Jakarta. Renowned Indonesian DJ Angger Dimas is raising suspicions of foul play in the tragic death of his 6-year-old son, Raden Andante Khalif Pramudityo. The young boy lost his life at the Tirtamas Pondok Kelapa swimming pool in East Jakarta on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024.
Dante tragically lost his life while under the supervision of Dimas' ex-wife, Tamara Tyasmara. The actress was reportedly on set shooting for a television show at the swimming pool where the incident occurred.
The international DJ --who has collaborated with international artists such as Steve Aoki, Laidback Luke, Diplo, and Iggy Azalea-- has recently withdrawn the autopsy refusal letter that he had initially signed concerning his son's death on Saturday. Dimas said retracting the letter was made to streamline the investigation process. He harbors suspicions that his son did not die from drowning but might have been deliberately drowned. The DJ is committed to facilitating a thorough examination of the circumstances surrounding his son's untimely death.
"To facilitate the investigation process, I am withdrawing the autopsy refusal letter," Dimas said at the Jakarta Metro Police Headquarters on Saturday.
Dimas explained that when he bathed his son's body before the burial, he noticed that the hand appeared to have been bruised. However, at that time, he did not suspect that something was amiss with his son's death.
Earlier, Dimas had signed the autopsy refusal letter because he was not aware that there were other people at the crime scene. The withdrawal of the autopsy refusal letter is expected to uncover the true cause of his son's death through the autopsy process.
"I cannot mention names, cannot provide confidential information," Dimas said when asked about the person suspected of causing his son's death.
Friends and supporters on Dimas's Instagram expressed condolences for his son's loss, with the hashtag #justicefordante circulating as a collective call for justice. Some also expressed confusion about Dante's death, considering Dante was known to be a good swimmer.
"I ask for justice because it is suspected that my child did not drown but was deliberately drowned. That's what makes me very emotional," Dimas said.
Tamara Tyasmara, devastated by the loss of her only child, also sought legal advice and justice with her lawyer Sandy Arifin at the Metro Jaya Regional Police on Thursday.
"Please pray that this will be resolved, and Dante can rest in peace," Tamara Tyasmara said.
Meanwhile, Tamara has not dared to watch the CCTV footage of the scene where her son drowned. She prefers to entrust the entire investigation to the police.
"I, along with my family, trust everything to the police," Tamara said.
Tamara Tyasmara's legal counsel, Sandy, said they are currently awaiting further information from the investigation into Dante's death.
