Bogor. Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno anticipates a surge in tourist traffic along the Puncak route in Bogor Regency, West Java, during the Eid holidays. He has urged the Bogor administration and relevant agencies to brace for potential congestion.

During his visit to the Integrated Traffic Operation Post of the Bogor Police in Gadog on Monday, the Minister highlighted the expected influx of travelers. "The estimated number of people traveling through the Puncak route during the homecoming season and Eid holidays this year is between 140,000 to 160,000. This figure exceeds the road capacity fourfold," he said.

A comprehensive assessment of the traffic monitoring system at the Integrated Post underscores the necessity for various engineering interventions and readiness of alternate routes and destinations. Additionally, multiple relevant agencies have implemented measures such as establishing homecoming posts.

Acknowledging the intersection of homecoming and tourist routes, Sandiaga Uno emphasized the critical role of the Puncak route for both tourists and travelers, especially those on two-wheel vehicles. He commended the collaborative efforts between the Acting Regent of Bogor Regency and relevant agencies in ensuring preparedness.
